What venue wants to be caught out by the N.S.W. authorities for breaches of the gaming machine laws? This can happen even if it was as a result of ignorance or oversight.

The solutions to address these potential problems can take many forms. Some venues may have adopted the use of published checklists, placing reliance on venue employees to complete them. Our experience is that proper completion of such checklists is often questionable and requirements may be misinterpreted.

Some venues rely on outsourced compliance audits followed by management review and rectification of non-compliance issues.

Other venues may have no compliance checks or programs whatsoever, but they should.
